1. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds
Especially after you've been in a public area like the subway or gym. If you use hand sanitizer instead, make sure it's at least 60% alcohol.
2. Touch your face less
In addition to washing your hands frequently, keep your hands away from your eyes, mouth, and nose. On average, people usually touch their face 23 times an hour! Keep your hands busy and pay attention to triggers like nail biting.
3. Throw away expired products
Now's a great time to do some spring cleaning with your makeup and skincare routines. Throw away any expired products, especially mascara and eyeliner (which should be replaced every 4 months). Don't share makeup with friends, either!
4. Wash your makeup brushes
Clean comsetic brushes and sponges with soap and warm water frequentl. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that you clean them every 7-10 days to rid them of bacteria buildup.
5. Don't dip your hands into your products
Be careful with open jar cosmetic and skincare products, especially if your hands are not totally clean before you dip your fringers into them, as that can introduce bacteria into the products.
