Meg is the CEO and Co-founder of Atolla. She has a graduate degree in Engineering and Management from MIT, and previously worked in design roles at Patagonia, The MIT Design Lab, and Formlabs.

Over the last year, our patented algorithm has been working to find even more sophisticated combinations of ingredients for you. Our formulas continue to be uniquely designed with only the highest-quality ingredients vetted by Atolla co-founder Dr. Ranella Hirsch, and can now include these new additions:
Principal Ingredients
Retinol
A Vitamin A derivative that facilitates the production of collagen and ramps up the skin cell cycle. With regular cellular renewal of the skin, retinol helps smooth out the skin’s texture and provides a mild firming effect.
Strength: 0.5% or less

Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2 (Peptide)
Used in a biomimetic peptide complex, Progeline, that can help restore skin structure and texture. Peptide proteins work as building blocks to the skin’s protein matrix and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
Strength: 1-2%

Ubiquinone (CoQ10)
An antioxidant that helps replenish and fight the effects of UV damage, including fine lines and wrinkles. This ingredient is naturally found in the skin and aids in energizing cell activity to repair skin damage.

Supporting Ingredients
Calendula
A flower, also known as marigold, that soothes and helps heal skin. This ingredient contains antioxidants and oils which can contribute to hydrating the skin and protecting from UV damage. Calendula can also be a good ingredient for breakouts as it can fight certain bacteria and reduce inflammation.

Dandelion Extract
An ingredient containing vitamins B and C that can help improve hydration, skin tone and texture. The extract of dandelion flowers contains many bioactive compounds such as minerals and proteins that can have therapeutic effects on the skin. As a slightly alkaline ingredient, it can be a good addition in breakout formulas where a certain pH is needed, and can provide an astringent or skin tightening effect.

Gotu Kola Extract
This extract from an herb, also known as tiger grass, can help encourage collagen production and enhance glow. The herb contains nutrients, natural acids, and enzymes which the skin can use for metabolic functions such as improving circulation, balancing moisture and healing some scarring. This ingredient can also help improve the appearance of dry and flaky skin.

Ginger Root Extract
This plant extract can help calm skin inflammation. With a rich mix of unique antioxidants, ginger root has been said to help protect the skin from environmental stressors such as UV rays. It can also be healing, toning, and antiseptic, which may be beneficial for users with breakouts.

Prickly Pear Extract
This cactus extract contains healthy compounds and oils such as antioxidants, omega-6 fatty acid and vitamin E, which help nourish the skin and support a better protective barrier. Another key component are phytosterols, which can help to support collagen synthesis. This ingredient can also be very hydrating and support cell turnover.

Amorphophallus Konjac Root Powder
This ingredient which comes from a starchy root can help support the skin barrier and normalize bacteria that may cause breakouts. Some research has noted that konjac has probiotic activity which leads to better balance in the skin.

Camellia Seed Oil
This oil is made from camellia flower seeds, which come from the camellia plant that is used to make different varieties of teas (such as green and white tea). This ingredient is high in antioxidants and nourishing fatty acids that make it a highly moisturizing, lightweight ingredient. It can also have a slight effect on pigment production, which can help even out the skin tone and brighten the complexion.

Willow Bark
This tree bark extract is a natural source of salicin, which is metabolized into salicylic acid. This ingredient also contains other natural compounds and minerals that help soothe skin with an anti-inflammatory effect. Other benefits are helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores for better skin texture.

Evening Primrose Oil
A plant oil with emollient properties that helps other ingredients absorb into the skin. Rich in Gamma linolenic acid and Omega 6 fatty acids, it has great anti-inflammatory properties and helps with the appearance of wrinkles.

Ferulic Acid
An antioxidant that works to boost the effects of other antioxidants, and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

An oily liquid from the chamomile plant that aids the penetration power of other ingredients, hydrates, and reduces inflammation.

Safflower Seed Oil
Safflower seed oil is another highly absorbent, fatty acid-rich oil that is a great moisturizer and emollient. When topically applied, it can have an anti-inflammatory effect and help support skin barrier function.

Bases
Apricot Kernel Oil
Apricot kernel oil is lightweight and has been said to closely resemble our natural sebum, which makes it easy for the skin to absorb. It contains fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants which protect the skin and encourage self-repair of the skin barrier.
Rose Flower Water
Water from the rose flower contains a significant amount of antioxidants and other compounds that help reduce skin inflammation. It can also be a good astringent that can help make the skin feel tighter.
